Whether you want a one time opportunity or have a few hours to give on a weekly or monthly basis, we can design the perfect volunteer job for you.
Jobs available:
o Clubhouse buddy – work side by side with clubhouse members in work unit tasks such as cooking, clerical duties, or small carpentry tasks.
o Committee member – serve on a committee to accomplish goals of the clubhouse
o Event planner or assistant –assist in the planning and execution of periodic special events such as dances for the brain injury community, mail outs and other fundraising events.
o Social activity coordinator - assist with monthly game nights and other social activities, including outings in the community. These usually occur in the late afternoons or occasionally on Saturday.
o Fundraising assistant- research, write and edit requests
o Translator- translate during activities for non-English speaking members
o Artist/ writer/newsletter creator –assist members in creative tasks
o Gardener- work side by side with members in our garden
o Cook- assist as members plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
o Career counselor/ resume writer – work toward employment with members on a career path
o Maintenance facilitator- teach repairs, cleaning and maintenance in the maintenance unit
o Exercise facilitator/ walking group leader- assist members with walking and yoga groups
o Public speaker/advocate/promotion – help to spread the word about our services and the challenges faced by people with traumatic brain injuries
o Office helper – work with members on the computer and in clerical tasks
Volunteer opportunities are available at our Stone Mountain location. Qualifications include willingness to support people with physical and/or cognitive (thinking) disabilities, good sense of humor, openness and flexibility. Training is provided on site and staff members are always present for supervision and assistance. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. A criminal background check will be conducted.
