The fun we had at Stone Mountain Park on last Tuesday, April 17th! We had such fun playing games and finding articles of Stone Mountain. We looked for things like lake water, rocks, and pictures of the mountain, worms, and a whole lot of stuff. We had such a good lunch and fabulous cake [provided by our former OT interns, Teresa & Berlinda]. Our staff was the greatest and they played games and were the best ever. Again, we would like to thank Stone Mountain for all of the fun we had. by Cheryl

Click here to see pictures of the picnic, games, and grilling in perfect picnic temps and setting. Many thanks to our volunteers: Walter, Lora, Berlinda, & Teresa!

There are times when we feel like the world is against us. Our mind tells us that we are not capable of starting or completing a task. If we have been idle for a while, we might not feel like attempting anything outside of our daily routines. It is at these times when we must nourish our minds with positive information. We need to always feed ourselves these positive messages regardless of the circumstances. Not only will it make us feel better within, but it will change the way we respond to different situations. Taking some time out of our schedules to meditate on an optimistic mind frame will help us to remember and practice what we need to make our lives stress free, more fulfilled, and much more content.

My current work focuses on textile which I will be showing on the upcoming art show held by the Pilot Club which is held every year. Also I am planning a showing in Charlotte N.C in June. My work is a healing for me and would like to share it with all that is interested.

In the first ever Jawbones v Sawbones basketball game to benefit Side by Side, the doctors claim bragging rights for a year. It was a close game until the last 5 minutes when the Sawbones pulled ahead with Coach Roger Kaiser leading the team of 14 to victory with MVP Dr. Walter Wawke scoring 19 points. The Jawbones put up a good fight as lawyers usually do. Seam Park earned MVP for the Jawbones team not only by scoring 14 points, but by fearlessly mixing it up all over the court. Herb White of GPB and Fred Kalil of WXIA provided color commentary with Don Wells, Chairman of the Board for Emory Johns Creek Hospital and Walter Vaughan, avid bball fan and husband of Side by Side staff member, Virginia keeping score.
